Zum gulden Stern x Meusert Winery

Creation of the Sternla Cuvée
“I believe that hospitality and an eye for the quality of food and drinks brought us together with the Gasthaus Zum Guldenen Stern and the Hilleprandt family.” Such a warm welcome with great food and open conversations is rare. After an extensive conversation and a few “Röstlas,” it was clear: we wanted to create a cuvée together. So Michael tapped the base wines from the tank at the winery, armed himself with a graduated cylinder and pipette, and returned to the Stern.

You can imagine the following afternoon like this: At the table sat Sofia and Beata Hilleprandt with their team and friends. A dog and a baby were present as impartial observers. Of course, all six possible base wines had to be tasted first. The selection included Silvaner, Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, Kerner, Scheurebe, and Gewürztraminer. Only after thoroughly tasting the base wines did the blending begin. In a 100 ml graduated cylinder, new variations of the Stern Cuvée were mixed and, of course, tasted. After six different attempts, we settled on the very first try: a generous splash of Kerner, a dash of Silvaner, and a touch of Gewürztraminer for that extra aromatic kick.

Thus, on January 11, 2024, the first Stern Cuvée was born. You can enjoy this fine wine exclusively at the Gasthaus Zum Guldenen Stern starting mid-April 2024. We’re looking forward to it!
